When: Sunday, April 15, 2012. 7:30am Start!
Where: Clermont Waterfront Park, (330 3rd Street, Clermont, Florida). Clermont is centrally located just 22 miles west of Orlando at the junction of US 27 and SR 50. Major Orlando tourist attractions are only 30 minutes away and the ocean beaches are just an hour away. Orlando International Airport is 40 minutes southeast of Clermont.
Course:
Swim Course: A 1.2 mile swim in picturesque Lake Minneola, designated as "Outstanding Waters" by the State of Florida. Projected water temperature: 80-82. Swim cut-off is 1.25 hours after the start of the last swim wave. Participants still swimming after the cut-off time will not be allowed to continue.
Bike Course: A 56 mile course consisting of one loop along rural country roads. No major elevation changes, but you will experience a few rolling hills and a steep but short climb up Sugarloaf Mountain. Support/aid stations will be located aproximately 10-15 miles apart. The official bike course cut-off is at 2:00 pm. All participants still on the course at that time will not be allowed to continue and will be removed from the course.
Run Course: The 13.1 mile run course will be an out and back, flat and fast course on the South Lake Trail. Runners will complete two laps of the 6.55 mile course.
Eligibility: Open to individuals 15 years of age or older on race day and two or three person relay teams. The Florida Challenge Triathlon is an event designed for experienced triathletes only. The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved. Please be aware that there are several cut-off times during the event that all participants must adhere to. Failure to meet cut-off times will result in disqualification and removal from the course.
Support: Several hundred volunteers from numerous Central Florida civic organizations are committed to make your race a safe and memorable experience. A minimum of four support stations will be located on the long course bike course. On the run, support stations are located every mile.
Weather: Average temperature on race day: low 72 - high 89.
Awards:
INDIVIDUALS - Attractive awards presented to the top five overall finishers, top five active military, top masters finishers, top five finishers in each age group, and the top five Clydesdale/Athena finishers (Men 200 lbs., Women 150 lbs.) ages 18-39 and 40 & over.
AQUA BIKE - Attractive awards presented to the top three overall finishers and the top three finishers in each of the following age groups: 15-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 & up.
RELAY TEAMS - Attractive awards presented to the top five teams in each division: male, female, and co-ed.
Amenities: Participant t-shirt, race packet, swim cap, post-race refreshments, complete race results and other goodies. Official individual finishers will receive a commeorative finisher's medal and finisher's shirt.

Saturday: Waterfront Park. (10am - 6pm)
Sunday: 6:00am - 7:15am. Yes, we will have race day registration, check or cash only.
